Frida Kahlo was the first Mexican artist who performed mostly self-portraits, in which used a fantasy and a style inspired by popular art country. Daughter of German Jewish photographer Guillermo Kahlo, Frida was born in Coyoacan in southern Mexico City. At age 16, while a student at the National Preparatory School of this city, was seriously injured in a truck accident and began painting during his recovery.
